GENERAL INFORMATION ON AIXAM AUTOS

The Aixam brand is a well known commodity in the European nations. The half cars they produce are one of the biggest in the world. The advent of such cars have allowed the European people a good chance of purchasing such "green" vehicles instead of the larger cars.

The Aixam Auto Company was first founded in the year 1983 in France. The company started off its initial productions in an AROLA factory. For a brief period in the 1990s, Aixam started to make standard sized automobiles under its big reputation. However, this project didn't carry the distance as expected as the same brand now applies to their Half Vans instead.

The Aixam Company has produced a lot of smashing hits like the Aixam A. The 7XX series cars are powered by the Kubota diesel engines which are gas efficient and small. The sizes of these cars vary, though. The smallest car of this brand does not require its drivers to purchase a driver's license for it as the speed reached is nothing more than 30 miles per hour. This rule is not applicable in the UK and it requires standard licensing to drive around any car. The fastest Aixam cars, on the other hand, can run up to 90 miles per hour. Despite its small frame, there is a lot of room available. It is built with plastic paneling and an alloy frame. The new electric versions of these cars, which aid gas economy, are also available in the market.

The Aixam range, today, consists of five unique vehicles, which includes the classic A series of quadricycle class half cars. This range features the following: an Aixam Scouty convertible, a fabulous series of SUV-type automobiles, the Crossline, the Multi Truck and the Moskito Micro. The most popular, however, are the A-line and the classic half cars that the brand has been producing for the last 25 years.

The Multi Truck and Micro Pick-up have only been in the market since 2002. Aixam used to produce full sized cars with mega brands such as Monte Carlo. But the company has now excelled in making these small half cars. This has been a major reason for their development of small car technologies.

The recent editions of Smart cars in the market have created a stiff competition in the recent years. It is challenged to not only expand product line but also to increase the fuel economy in a market that is known to have high fuel prices and better CAFÉ standards. Competition for these Smart cars comes from the cheaper, traditional sized vehicles. But the Smart cars offer fuel efficiency.

It is interesting to know the exact difference between a normal car and the Aixam half cars. The power and speed are obviously the biggest difference. You cannot expect a half car to perform like a big branded Jaguar. But people have started to realize that all they would actually need is a half car that goes up to 60 miles an hour. The gasoline consumption is low in these half cars. The space in Aixam cars may be not more than for two people to drive around at once, but this hardly rules out the positives that these cars bring.
